How To Hang A Valance

Hanging a valance and curtains over your window will add dimension, texture and style to any room. It's important to measure the window and decide what type of curtains you want before you buy the curtain hardware.

Install Hardware

You need to choose the hardware. Usually there are 5 kinds of hardware to have a valance.

1. Double Curtain Rod Set

The back rod use to hang curtains or sheers, the front rod use to hang valance. Simultaneously, the style of the valance have been decided. The style of the valance must work with the curtain rod or hooks. The valance need hang with hooks or cover the rod, such as swag valance, eyelet heading valance, double pinch pleat heading valance.

2. Double Curtain Track Set with Valance Track

The curtain track use to hang curtains or sheers, the valance track use to hang valance. What is velcro valance track? Velcro valance track is a piece of bendable track with velcro hook side which you can hang the valance use velcro loop side. We will fixed a velcro loop side onto the valance, and you just need to hang the valance on.

3. Triple Curtain Track Set with Valance Track

This kind of hardware suitable for the situation you are not only need to hang curtains, but also need to hang sheers, besides, you want to hang a valance. The install method is same as above. We will fixed a velcro loop side onto the valance, and you just need to hang the valance on.

4. Pelmet Box

General, pelmet box is made of board or plasterboard. The install method is similar with above. We will fixed a velcro loop side onto the valance, and send the velcro hook side to you together. You just need to fix the velcro hook side onto the pelmet, then hang the valance onto pelmet.

5. Separate Valance Track

However, this is similar with others.The difference is that installation is slightly different.

What is velcro valance track? Velcro valance track is a piece of bendable track with hook velcro side which you can hang the valance use loop velcro side.

Hook and Loop Velcro

What is hook and loop velcro? Hook and loop velcro consist of two components: typically, two lineal fabric strips which are attached to the opposing surfaces to be fastened. The first component features tiny hooks; the second features even smaller and "hairier" loops. When the two components are pressed together, the hooks catch in the loops and the two pieces fasten or bind temporarily during the time that they are pressed together.

You may need nailer gun or staple gun to fix the velcro hook side onto the pelmet.
